In many cases, UDS allows us to ensure that your medications are not competing with other substances in your system. Also, an UDS is a powerful tool to help you accomplish your goals of achieving and maintaining sobriety. In other instances, UDS help us to verify that you are taking your medication as prescribed. If you are prescribed controlled substances, you may be asked to sign a controlled substance agreement and regular UDS may be a part of this agreement.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the difference between a psychiatrist or a therapist?” tab_id=”1623954940873-bc5cc613-7a25″][vc_column_text]A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can provide both medications and psychotherapy. After earning a bachelor’s degree, a psychiatrist completes 4 years of general medical training followed by at least 4 years of specialty training in psychiatry. A psychologist, social worker, or licensed counselor will have specialized training in psychotherapy but cannot prescribe medicine. A nurse practitioner or physician assistant may have specialty training or experience in treating behavioral health disorders but they are not psychiatrists.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is mental health?” tab_id=”1623954979033-a68abe6f-72f0″][vc_column_text]Most people tend to answer this question by defining mental health as an absence of the mental anguish they may be experiencing. Some may describe mental health as the absence of anxiety, depression, stress, labile moods, anger outbursts, addiction, broken relationships and sleeplessness. We are very good at labeling the parts of ourselves that cause us pain. As such, people often seek help from a mental health professional to relieve their mental and emotional suffering. They reach out for help in search of what seems like an elusive concept: mental health.

Most people have a unique view of what mental health looks like in their own life. Each person has individual opinions of what makes them feel happy, whole, fulfilled and well.

We want to inspire you to seek out your best self, not just relief from suffering. What makes you feel happy? Whole? Fulfilled? Healthy? Certainly you value so much more than simply an absence of mental illness. Each of us come to treatment with goals that we want to achieve in the course of recovery. We challenge you to explore what does mental health look like for you? What does it mean for you to be truly well? What does it mean to achieve health in mind, body and spirit? What restores meaning and purpose in your life?[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]JTNDcCUyMGlkJTNEJTIycmVxdWVzdC1hcHBvaW50bWVudCUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRnAlM0U=[/vc_raw_html][vc_empty_space height=”60px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row bg_type=”bg_color” bg_override=”full” bg_color_value=”#e8e8e8″][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”60px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]
